AFTER FOREVER Guitarist To Be Released From Hospital Early Next Week
April 9, 2005AFTER FOREVER guitarist Sander Gommans suffered an acute appendicitis during the recording sessions for the group's new album and had to undergo surgery. On April 5 he was operated on and will probably need to stay in the hospital until early next week. The group have issued the following update on his confidition:
"One of Sander's favorite sayings is 'One big party.' Well, the stay in the Wolfsburg Klinikum definitly is not. All these beautifull German nurses, lovingly holding his hand and comforting him, have not yet shown up. He fears he might become gay if he has to stay in this hospital for a long time.
"Physically he is not in a great shape. His systems (guts, stomach) do not respond to food intake the way they should (which is a nice way of putting it ...) so he is really feeling sick. He is back to the menu he started with on Wednesday: tea and water. There will be further investigations on Saturday.
"The gig in De Kade Zaandam, planned on April 15, will be cancelled. A new date will be planned."
AFTER FOREVER are recording their fourth full-length album, "Remagine", at the Gate Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany. The group's latest album, "Invisible Circles", was released in March 2004 through Transmission Records. "Invisible Circles" is the follow-up to "Decipher", which was issued in 2001.
